Events:
The Barony usually has an event each month. Scheduled Baronial events are listed below, although dates are subject to change. Please contact the event stewards for details. E-mail links are only provided where permission has been obtained but inquiries submitted via the webwright will be passed on to the appropriate person.
Note: As per Society and Baronial policy, all minors attending an event without their parent or legal guardian MUST have three copies of a notarized Medical Authorization Form to present at the gate or they will not be admitted. One copy is to be kept on the person of the minor, one is to be held by the designated caregiver who is in attendance with him/her, and the third is to be given to the gatekeeper. No unaccompanied minors will be admitted.
Per Caidan policy, all minors who do not have a BLUE membership card must also present a notarized Minor's Consent to Participate and Hold Harmless Agreement which has been signed by a parent or legal guardian before being admitted to the event. This form and the Medical Authorization must both be notarized in the home state of the minor.
Unless otherwise stated, events take place on the island of Oahu.

This is a day event at the Kahua Nui campsite. Site note: We will not be the only campers there. We will not have access to the stone pavilion.

12:00 noon Opening Court.
12:30 p.m. The challenges begin!
5:00 p.m. Closing Court.
6:15 p.m. Site closed.
The day will involve challenges for heavy fighters and non-combatants alike. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Direction to the Event: From the Pali: Head toward Kailua, take a left turn onto Kamehameha Hwy. Take a left onto Luluku Road and go all the way to the end. You should be at the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens. From Likelike: Head toward Kaneohe, take a right at Kamehameha Highway. Turn right onto Luluku Road and go all the way to the end. You should be at the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens. From H-3: Head toward Kaneohe/Kailua, take the Likelike exit and follow the Likelike directions above.
Important campsite rules: All campers must check in at the Visitors Center before going to the campsite. Parking passes are issued from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and are required if staying past 4:00 p.m. or spending the night.
Gate is locked at 4:00 p.m. and reopens at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and again from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. for exits only.
Do not drive into campgrounds or on the grass.
No alcohol, firearms, fireworks, generators or amplifiers.
No collecting plants or fruits; do not tie, nail or attach anything to the trees.

Site fee: $5.00 per adult (12 and up). There will be an additional $3.00 non-member fee collected if you do not show proof of membership. Please make checks payable to: SCA, Barony of the Western Seas.

The Battle in Kalkriese Forest took place in 9th century a.d. and defined the border of the Roman Empire for four hundred years. Then Rome fell but there were still a few confused but persistant Romans lost in the woods, either that or they were badgers in chariots. Either way come join us for our wonderful new event.

Namakanipaio campground is located within Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. These campgrounds are FREE - the only fee that applies is your entrance fee to the park. Camping is available on a first-come basis. No reservations, No permits, and No check-in are necessary. Stays are limited to 7 days in a month and cannot exceed 30 days per year.
Namakanipaio Campground, is located off Highway 11, 31 1/2 miles out of Hilo at 4,000' elevation. It is a large, open grassy area with tall eucalyptus and ohi'a trees. This campground has restrooms, water, picnic tables, and barbecue pits. These are shared facilities with just a few individual sites. There is a large pavillion at Namakanipaio with picnic tables and 2 fireplaces. You must purchase your own firewood.Volcano House Hotel, operates rustic camper cabins at the Namakanipaio campground.
The cabins sleep 4 (1 double bed and 2 bunk-style twin beds). Each cabin has a picnic table and an outdoor barbecue grill. Showers are available. Reservations are required.

Weather may be cool and damp year-round. Daytime temperature range: 60s to 80s F. Nightime temperature range: high 30s to low 50s F. We suggest that you use a tent with a good rainfly and bring warm clothing for cool days and evenings.

Demos:
If you would like to meet us at one of our public or school demos before joining us at a full fledged event, we will be appearing at the following dates and places. Some demos are not open to the general public.Contact Doña Maria de Ysla for more information about attending or scheduling a demo.
For demo requests, please contact us at least two months in advance. In order to do a quality presentation we need lead time to notify our members and make arrangements for participants and/or displays.

Open to the Public Demos may include performances or demonstrations of fighting, fencing, dancing or music,
or displays of work representing the Arts and Sciences.
